AG Anil said there have been rumors that Supreme Court will soon issue an order to remove the President

Attorney General (AG) Mohamed Anil has said the government will not obey any order to remove President Abdulla Yameen.
In a press conference on Sunday morning, AG Anil said there have been rumors that Supreme Court will soon issue an order to remove the President.
Anil said the President can only be removed through a vote in parliament, and that the apex court has no authority to issue such an order.
Also at the press conference, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam and Acting Police Commissioner Abdulla Nawa  vowed to abide by orders with the instruction of the Attorney General.
Last year, 12 opposition lawmakers were unseated following a vote to oust pro-government Speaker Abdulla Maseeh.
