Half of current PNC councilors were nurtured from within our ranks: Nasheed

He noted that these councilors are not strangers to the MDP and reaffirmed the party's commitment to providing technical expertise and support to them upon request.

The Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and former President, Mohamed Nasheed, has stated that half of the main ruling People's National Congress' (PNC) current councilors originally emerged from within MDP.
Speaking at the MDP investment forum held during the party's congress on Friday, President Nasheed stated that numerous councilors affiliated with the PNC have been inquiring via messages about the possibility of participating in the MDP’s project office.
President Nasheed stated that although the Project Office was established within the MDP, the party is prepared to provide assistance to PNC councilors upon their request.
President Nasheed stated that the PNC-led councils are not unfamiliar to the MDP.

An investment forum has been launched as part of the Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) fifth congress. This marks the first time a political party in the Maldives has organized such an event. The forum is an initiative spearheaded by the party's Chairperson, Mohamed Nasheed.
