Despite having worked tirelessly to bring President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to power, Mohamed Jaleel—the former Atoll Chief of Faafu Atoll and former President of the Nilandhoo Council—has declared that he no longer supports the President, asserting that someone who is unfaithful to Allah will never be faithful to the people.
In an interview with RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program, Jaleel stated that President Muizzu has lost public support due to the government's current policies and various other factors. He further noted that he does not believe the level of support previously enjoyed by President Muizzu can be restored.
Jaleel stated that his philosophy is to work alongside a leader who is committed to reform. However, he expressed skepticism regarding the current administration's ability to deliver, noting that he does not believe they will achieve in their remaining two years what they have failed to rectify over the past three.
Highlighting the inconsistency between the government's rhetoric and its actions, Jaleel stated that this disconnect remains evident today. He noted that while Allah has revealed that only those who disbelieve in His revelations resort to falsehood, it follows that anyone who is not faithful to Allah will never be truthful to the people.
Jaleel was a key figure who worked tirelessly in Faafu Atoll to bring President Muizzu to power. However, in this interview, he has revealed that he no longer supports President Muizzu's administration.
