Fatal Accident on Sosun Magu: 26-Year-Old Victim Passes Away

A woman who was undergoing treatment following a serious collision between two motorcycles on Sosun Magu in Malé has passed away.
Police stated that the family of the 26-year-old woman injured in the accident has informed them of her passing on Friday evening while undergoing treatment at ADK Hospital.
Police received a report of a serious collision involving two motorcycles on Sosun Magu at approximately 1:12 AM on September 21, 2026.
Three individuals sustained various degrees of injuries in the incident. The victims include two Maldivian men, aged 21 and 22, and a 26-year-old Maldivian woman. While the woman was treated at ADK Hospital, the two men received medical attention at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). The 26-year-old woman undergoing treatment at ADK Hospital has since passed away.
According to the police, the 21-year-old individual operating one of the motorcycles involved in the accident did not possess a valid driving license.
In connection with this case, a 21-year-old Maldivian man who was operating the motorcycle was arrested under a court order on September 22, 2026. Upon being produced before the court to determine his remand status, the court ordered him to be detained for a period of 15 days.
