Over 3.3 Kilograms of Narcotics Seized at Gan International Airport

Maldives Customs Service has seized over 3.3 kilograms of narcotics attempted to be smuggled into the country via air.
Customs has announced the seizure of 3,345 grams of cannabis at Gan International Airport on September 22.
Customs stated that the seizure occurred following a search of luggage belonging to two Indian nationals arriving from India. The inspection was conducted after officials grew suspicious that the passengers were concealing narcotics within their belongings.
Maldives Customs Service stated that this seizure marks a significant success in the ongoing national efforts to curb the smuggling of narcotics into the country.
The seized narcotics have been handed over to the police for further examination and to facilitate the ongoing investigation into the matter.
