Three people sustained various degrees of injuries following a serious collision between two motorcycles on Sosun Magu in Male'.
According to the police, the accident was reported at approximately 01:12 AM on September 21, 2026.
The victims of the incident include two Maldivian men, aged 21 and 22, and a 26-year-old Maldivian woman. The injured woman is currently receiving treatment at ADK Hospital, while the two men are being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
According to police, the 21-year-old man operating one of the motorcycles involved in the accident did not possess a valid driving license.
Videos of the incident circulating on social media show three people sustained varying degrees of serious injuries in a collision between two motorcycles. The footage shows the victims bleeding profusely, with two of the individuals appearing to be unresponsive. While the third person remained conscious, they also sustained severe injuries.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and are conducting further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
