In response to the growing issue of undocumented migrants, Maldives Immigration has conducted a special operation in AA. Thoddoo, taking 107 foreign nationals into custody.
Maldives Immigration has highlighted a significant rise in issues concerning undocumented expatriates in Thoddoo, noting that the authority has received numerous complaints from the public. To address these concerns, the Immigration Task Force has conducted a special operation on the island.
Maldives Immigration has reported that a total of 507 expatriates were screened during this operation. Out of those inspected, 107 individuals have been taken into immigration custody.
Despite ongoing operations to address the issue of undocumented migrants, public concern is mounting over the increasing number of expatriates operating without regulation. Many citizens have expressed alarm that since President Muizzu’s administration took office, foreign nationals have been increasingly dominating the country’s small business sector.
