Expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia during this critical time, the President commended the vigilance and swift action of the Saudi defense forces. He further called for an immediate cessation of such attacks to ensure the preservation of regional peace and stability.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has strongly condemned the dangerous drone attack attempted by Houthi rebels targeting Mecca.
In a message shared on his official X account, President Muizzu stated that such cowardly acts aimed at desecrating the sanctity and disrupting the peace of Islam’s holiest sites are entirely unacceptable. The President further emphasized that these actions represent a significant challenge and an affront to the dignity of the entire Muslim Ummah.
President Muizzu has reaffirmed that during this critical time, the Maldives will always stand in full solidarity with the government and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the Maldivian president commended the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces for their vigilance, as well as the swift and decisive measures taken to ensure the safety and security of the Holy Mosque, the residents of the city, and the pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah.
Concluding his message, President Muizzu called for an immediate end to such illegal attacks. He further urged all relevant parties to prioritize peace and dialogue to prevent further escalation of tensions in the region.
