Yameen Deeply Involved in Sorcery, Forced Man to Stand Naked at Sea: Falah

The Parliamentary Group Leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC) and Member of Parliament for the Inguraidhoo constituency, Ibrahim Falah, has leveled serious allegations against former President Abdulla Yameen, claiming he is deeply involved in sorcery and black magic. Falah further cautioned that one should not even look toward the former President’s residence without first reciting the Ayatul Kursi for protection.
Falah made these remarks while speaking at a rally organized by the main ruling party, the People's National Congress (PNC).
Speaking at the gathering, Falah alleged that former President Yameen has been engaging in sorcery ever since his defeat in the 2018 presidential election. Falah further characterized President Yameen as an individual deeply involved in the practice of black magic and occult rituals.
Elaborating further on the matter, Falah stated that when a close associate of President Yameen questioned him regarding such issues during his administration, the President responded by saying that such matters could only be questioned on the Day of Judgment. Furthermore, Falah alleged that during that period, President Yameen maintained absolute control over every critical situation and high-level decision within the country.
Elaborating on the acts committed during the practice of black magic, Falah stated that the individual involved was stripped naked and taken into the sea at the Raalhugandu area to perform certain rituals. Falah further characterized President Yameen as someone who would stoop to any level of depravity to achieve his personal ambitions.
Falah’s serious allegations come at a time of intensifying political friction and public verbal sparring between former President Yameen and the current administration. Similar accusations of sorcery being practiced during Yameen’s presidency had been leveled by the opposition in the past. However, at that time, Falah had consistently spoken out to deny those claims.
Government officials at the time heavily criticized RaajjeTV over its documentary, "Sihuru ge Verikan", which detailed interactions between former President Abdulla Yameen and a Sri Lankan sorcerer named Asela Wickramasinghe during Yameen's 2013 presidential campaign. However, it is noteworthy that even the most senior members of the party that formed that administration are now making similar allegations.
Following the broadcast of the documentary on RaajjeTV, a government agency alleged that the content contravened the fundamental principles of Islam and threatened the religious unity of the Maldivian people. Consequently, the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom), which is legally mandated to regulate and monitor broadcasters, took punitive action against the station without conducting a formal investigation into the allegations.
