The Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) has launched a special relief fund titled the "MRC Nepal Solidarity Fund" to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the devastating flash floods in northern Nepal.
This fund was established to provide essential assistance and relief during the country's ongoing state of emergency.
The severe flooding that struck northern Nepal on August 26 has caused extensive damage across the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.
According to the latest available statistics, it is estimated that more than 93,000 people have been affected by this disaster. The incident has resulted in widespread destruction of property, while damage to bridges and roads has left several areas completely isolated.
All proceeds collected through the fund established by the Maldivian Red Crescent will be channeled to the Nepal Red Cross Society via the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
On August 27, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) launched an international appeal to raise 25 million Swiss francs to support Nepal.
