In a post on X on Tuesday, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported that 17 cases of measles were detected in the Greater Male' area last week. According to the agency, this brings the total number of measles cases recorded so far this year to 243.
With over 16,000 individuals vaccinated to date, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has urged those uncertain of their vaccination status to visit designated centers to ensure they have completed both doses of the measles vaccine. Furthermore, the HPA has advised anyone exhibiting symptoms of the disease to isolate and avoid public gatherings to prevent further spread.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported that 10 cases of measles were detected last week. Consequently, the number of infections recorded this week shows an increase compared to the previous period.
Furthermore, a young Maldivian recently passed away while receiving treatment for measles.
