Current administration's governance reveals a complete lack of leadership: Hisaan

MDP Vice President and former Thulhaadhoo MP Hisaan Hussain has criticized the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, stating that it demonstrates a complete lack of leadership.

Speaking at an MDP rally held in Addu City on Friday night, Hisaan stated that leadership is not merely standing before the national flag with a hand over one's heart and reciting eloquent phrases. She remarked that the current administration's policies and the conduct of its senior officials demonstrate a complete lack of genuine leadership.

Furthermore, Hisaan criticized the government's rhetoric regarding the current dollar shortage and the rising exchange rates facing the Maldives. She stated that it is shameful for the government to assume the public is naive enough to believe such narratives.

The value of the dollar has skyrocketed. When faced with these complaints, what is the current administration’s response? For instance, they claim that the dollar rate is rising because of the headlines published in the news. Good heavens—I wonder, if the newspapers were to print that the dollar is at 10 Rufiyaa, would the rate actually drop tomorrow? It is truly shameful that this government considers the citizens to be so gullible.
