Applications open for school admissions for upcoming academic year

Applications can be submitted through the Ministry's official website, ahead of the new academic term scheduled to commence on January 17 next year.

Applications have been opened for student enrollment in government schools for the upcoming academic year.
In a post on X on Thursday, the Ministry of Education announced that the application window for student enrollment in government schools for the 2027 academic year will remain open until August 31.
Application forms for enrollment in government schools are now available. According to the announcement, the forms can be accessed through the Ministry of Education's official website.
The Ministry stated that the form will be the standard requirement for student enrollment across all schools in the Maldives.
More than 4,000 students have enrolled in Grade 1 at government schools for the 2026 academic year. Of these, over 1,700 students are set to begin their studies in schools across the Greater Male' region.
While the 2026 academic year commenced on January 27, students have now concluded their first term and begun their break. The second term is scheduled to run from August 2 to December 17.
The 2027 academic year is scheduled to begin on January 17.
