Waheed: Current Situation is a Transitional Phase to Overthrow President Muizzu’s Administration
Speaking at an MDP protest, former Member of Parliament Waheed asserted that the current administration has caused a surge in the cost of living and widespread job insecurity. He claimed that 70 percent of the population now opposes the government due to the country's deteriorating condition, characterizing the current state of affairs as a transitional phase toward a change in leadership. Furthermore, he warned that if the government continues to ignore the public's concerns, the opposition will take to the streets to hold the administration accountable.

Former Member of Parliament for Ungoofaaru constituency, Mohamed Waheed, has stated that 70 percent of the Maldivian people have already made their decision, and that the country is currently undergoing a transitional phase to replace the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Waheed made these remarks while speaking at the Employment Thursday protest organized by the MDP on Thursday night.
He strongly criticized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration, expressing deep concern over the skyrocketing cost of living that citizens are facing under the current government.
Waheed stated that the public is facing immense hardship and that the country is currently regressing to a state worse than the pre-Islamic era of ignorance. He further noted that a climate of fear has been created regarding employment, asserting that no government employee today has any sense of job security.
Referring to the current political climate, Waheed stated that it is evident the government has lost public support, noting that 70 percent of the citizenry has already made their decision. He further asserted that the country is currently undergoing what is effectively a transitional phase toward a change in administration.
This individual is dragging our nation back to an era darker than the age of ignorance. Today, no government employee has job security. Unless one bows and turns exactly according to his whims, there is no guarantee of employment in this country anymore. There is no longer any certainty in the services provided by the state. Now that he has plunged the nation into this state, we have no choice but to remove him from power.Mohamed Waheed, the former Member of Parliament for the Ungoofaaru constituency.
Waheed stated that if President Muizzu continues to display arrogance and pride while ignoring the voice of the people, the MDP will take to the streets every time to shake the foundations of the government. He further remarked that the current administration's grip on power is already fragile and nearing its end.
