Hajj Corporation: Luggage of pilgrims arriving Monday night delayed due to airline technical issues
The Maldives Hajj Corporation has announced that the luggage of numerous pilgrims, which was delayed due to technical issues with Saudi Arabian Airlines, is expected to arrive on Tuesday night. The delay has sparked widespread concern among pilgrims and their families, as many have been forced to remain in Male' instead of returning to their home islands, with further frustration stemming from the perceived lack of timely information regarding the situation.

A group of approximately 200 pilgrims returned to the Maldives on Monday night; however, a significant issue has emerged as the majority of their luggage failed to arrive with them.
When contacted by RaajjeMV for clarification, the Maldives Hajj Corporation stated that the delay in pilgrims receiving their luggage was due to technical issues encountered by Saudi Arabian Airlines. The Corporation further explained that these technical difficulties prevented a significant number of suitcases from being loaded onto the aircraft.
Furthermore, the Hajj Corporation stated that upon inquiring with Saudi Arabian Airlines regarding the matter, they were informed that the luggage is expected to arrive on Tuesday night's flight.
The Hajj Corporation stated that the information was not shared with pilgrims at the time because they were unaware of the situation, adding that there was no intentional withholding of information. However, the corporation noted that it was later discovered that a significant amount of luggage had not arrived.
The delay in receiving their luggage forced several individuals to remain in Male', preventing them from returning to their home islands as planned.
Some have noted that delays in providing information from the Hajj Corporation have contributed to increasing anxiety among pilgrims. These individuals emphasized the importance of disseminating information as promptly as possible in such situations.
