Seven days remain to apply for land plots and flats
The Ministry of Housing has extended the application deadline for various land and flat housing schemes in the Male' area until June 15th. This decision was made following public requests, as many applicants faced difficulties in gathering the necessary documentation due to the recent Eid holidays.

The deadline for land plot and flat applications is fast approaching.
According to an announcement by the Ministry, the deadline has been extended until 11:59 PM on June 15, in consideration of the upcoming Eid-al-Adha holidays. Under the previous arrangement, the application window for land plots and flats was scheduled to close by the end of this May.
The Ministry stated that the decision to extend the deadline was made in response to numerous complaints regarding difficulties in gathering the necessary documentation and submitting applications on time. These challenges were attributed to the Eid-al-Adha holidays, a period when many travel out of town to spend time with family, coinciding with the closure of government offices.
The extended schemes include the special category for individuals who hold official documentation for flats under the "Veshifahi Male" or "Hiyaa" projects but have not yet had the units handed over to them. Additionally, the extension applies to the special category designated for persons with disabilities applying for housing units.
Furthermore, the deadline has been extended for categories under the special land allocation schemes designated for Male' residents. These categories include joint applicants under the "Binveriya" scheme who wish to apply for separate land plots, as well as individuals previously deemed ineligible for the scheme due to owning a flat, who now choose to relinquish their flat in exchange for a land plot.
The extension also applies to the residential land plots allocated to Malé residents under the government's housing program.
The Ministry of Housing has announced that the application deadline for all housing schemes, including flats and land plots in the Greater Male' area, has been extended until 23:59 on Monday, June 15, 2026.
