A special envoy from the United Arab Emirati government has met with President Abdulla Yameen, where the Maldivian head-of-state was invited to visit the UAE.

Emirati Minister of Energy, Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, met with President Yameen on Sunday and conveyed greetings from senior members of his government. This includes President Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The two had held discussions on various areas of mutual interest, with especial focus on ‘energy cooperation’.

Maldivian Minister of Defence Adam Shareef, State Minister Mohamed Naseer, deputy minister at the Foreign Ministry Fathinath Inaya had participated in the meeting as well.
