Two individuals arrested in Hulhumale' in connection with a drug-related case
Police have impounded a car following the arrest of two individuals in Hulhumale’ on suspicion of drug possession and trafficking, after discovering 36 rubber packets containing suspected illicit substances. The suspects, hailing from N. Velidhoo and Gn. Fuvahmulah, have been remanded in custody for 15 days by the court as police continue their investigation into the matter.

Two individuals have been arrested in Hulhumalé in connection with a drug-related case.
The individuals arrested in connection with this case have been identified as Hussain Samah, 33, of Veshi in N. Velidhoo, and Hassan Jailam, 34, of Vaigadage in Fuvahmulah.
The two individuals were intercepted and searched in Hulhumale' Phase 1 on April 7, 2026, on suspicion of drug possession, trafficking, and consumption. During the operation, authorities discovered 36 rubber packets containing substances suspected to be narcotics. In connection with the case, the vehicle driven by the suspects has been towed.
When the two individuals were produced in court for a remand hearing, the court ordered them to be detained for a period of 15 days.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
