Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidates contesting for several constituencies in Addu City in the upcoming local council elections, along with their respective campaign teams.
The meeting took place on Thursday afternoon as part of the former President's ongoing visit to the connected islands of Addu City, as well as the districts of Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo.
Solih has met with the campaign teams of Feydhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo within the connected islands of Addu City. During the meeting, Solih encouraged the candidates and highlighted the significance of the upcoming Local Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections. The candidates and campaign teams noted that the MDP teams remain strong and united, ready to secure victory in the elections. Additionally, Solih inquired about the progress of the "Noonekey Campaign," an initiative urging the public to vote against the proposal to synchronize presidential and parliamentary elections in the upcoming referendum.
Solih visited the islands of Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo on Wednesday to observe the progress of the MDP’s ongoing campaign activities. The former President was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at both islands.
