President's claims refuted: Current administration hired 34 employees for F. Feeali Fenaka branch alone!
When President Muizzu assumed office in 2023, the Fenaka branch in Feeali had 26 employees; however, his administration has since recruited an additional 39 staff members, including five new appointments made this past Tuesday.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been accused of making a blatant misrepresentation after claiming that only 10 employees have been hired by Fenaka Corporation in F. Feeali since his administration took office.
Fenaka Corporation began providing electricity services in Feeali during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
During a press conference held at the President's Office on Monday, President Muizzu stated that there are currently 60 employees at the Fenaka branch in Feeali. He clarified that while this administration hired 10 of those staff members, the remaining 50 were recruited during the previous MDP administration.
However, this is a significant falsehood propagated by President Muizzu. Since assuming office on November 17, 2023, numerous individuals in Feeali have been granted employment. These appointments span various sectors, including Fenaka Corporation, MTCC ferry services, MTCC project sites, and the local ice plant. Furthermore, the administration continues to distribute jobs to many others in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.
When President Muizzu assumed office in 2023, the Fenaka branch in Feeali consisted of 26 employees. Since then, the Muizzu administration has hired an additional 34 staff members for the island's branch. Furthermore, efforts are currently underway to recruit five more individuals. Once these appointments are finalized, the total number of employees hired by this administration at the Feeali Fenaka branch will reach 39.
The President’s claim that 50 people were hired at the Fenaka branch in Feeali during the MDP administration is yet another falsehood. By the end of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s five-year term, only 18 employees had been recruited to the branch. The remaining eight staff members were those hired when Fenaka first established its operations in Feeali.
In addition to Fenaka, other state-owned enterprises are also continuing to hire new staff. For instance, five employees were recently recruited for the Feeali ice plant. Furthermore, five additional staff members have been hired for the MTCC site. Similarly, under the current administration, nine employees have been recruited for the MTCC ferry service in Feeali.
Consequently, as this administration marks its second year, a total of 53 individuals from Feeali have been provided with employment. Among the workplaces where these jobs were created is an MTCC site that remains completely inactive. Furthermore, the Feeali land reclamation project has been at a standstill since this government took office.
