President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed concern regarding potential retaliatory strikes against U.S. military bases and embassies in response to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
As the United States and Israel initiate hostilities against Iran, Tehran has retaliated by targeting U.S. military bases and embassies. While launching strikes against American military installations across the Middle East, Iran has maintained that its operations are strictly focused on U.S. strategic targets. Furthermore, Iranian authorities have stated that they will not target civilian residential areas in any country.
Speaking at a press conference held at the President's Office on Monday, President Muizzu called for an end to the ongoing attacks by Iran against targets in the Middle East. President Muizzu stated that he wishes for Iran to direct its attacks specifically toward Israel, emphasizing that this is something he strongly desires.
President Muizzu stated that the attacks being carried out by any party involved in the conflict are unjustifiable. He emphasized that if Iran were to launch attacks, they should be directed specifically at Israel. The President further noted that when Muslim and Arab nations are targeted, it is Muslims who lose their lives and Muslim properties that are destroyed.
None of the parties involved in this conflict are launching the attacks they ought to be. If Iran is to strike, those attacks must be directed specifically at Israel. That is our position. Israel should be targeted day and night. Instead, by attacking Muslim Arab nations, it is only fellow Muslims who are being killed.President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu
Despite President Muizzu’s assertions, Iran has not launched direct attacks against Middle Eastern nations. However, while attempting to intercept ongoing Iranian strikes targeting U.S. military bases and embassies within those countries, some territories have been inadvertently impacted.
Iran has repeatedly stated that it will not attack its allies in the Middle East. However, the country has warned that it will not remain idle as long as U.S. military installations are stationed within those nations.
