Male' City Mayor Adam Azim has criticized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, attributing the current standstill in national development projects to the President's perceived lack of experience and patriotism. Speaking at a rally in Addu City, Azim alleged that the administration's primary focus is personal enrichment, contrasting this with the MDP government’s continuous development efforts which he credited to the party's sincerity. He concluded by urging citizens to vote for the MDP in the upcoming elections to challenge the government's rhetoric and hold them accountable.

Male' City Mayor Adam Azim has stated that the current national stagnation is due to the country being led by an individual who lacks any genuine love for the nation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Afiringe Jagaha" campaign hub for the Addu Hulhudhoo constituency, Azim stated that the individual currently leading the nation lacks any genuine love for the country. He asserted that if President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu truly cared for the nation, he would not have acted the way he did within the Male' City Council. Azim added that if one were to visit the council today, they would witness the cleanliness, aesthetic appeal, and the organized manner in which it is now maintained.
Azim stated that these achievements were the result of just two years of work. He further noted that the current lack of development projects in the country is due to such initiatives not being part of President Muizzu's vision or agenda.
Therefore, when the nation falls into the hands of such an individual, forget Hulhudhoo—nothing will be accomplished anywhere. They simply cannot do it. They lack the experience, the vision, and the mindset to deliver results. Consequently, we now have a prime opportunity to prove their falsehoods at the ballot box. The Mayor stated that he does not believe the citizens of this country have any other choice.
Azim stated that various development projects were implemented during the MDP administration because the party’s vision has always remained focused on national progress. He further noted that many would acknowledge him as one of the most active figures in driving development across the Maldives, from the northernmost to the southernmost atolls, during his tenure as the CEO of MTCC under President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s government.
Azim stated that these projects continued uninterrupted even during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the MDP’s policies, administrative experience, and strategic vision, as well as the strength, sincerity, and integrity of its team. He further noted that this was possible because the MDP is not driven by a mindset of personal enrichment.
However, Azim stated that the country is currently heading in the opposite direction, asserting that the sole objective of those in power is to enrich themselves through every possible means.
