Naushad’s murder: case against Faih and Siruhan proceeds to evidentiary arguments and closing statements

A court hearing regarding the fatal stabbing of Mohamed Ahmed Didi (Naushad), of Izmir, S. Hithadhoo, has been cancelled.
The incident related to the charges in this case occurred on February 24, 2023, at approximately 21:30. Naushad was attacked while inside the "Class" shop located on Muranga Magu in Maafannu. While inside the shop, he sustained deep stab wounds to his head, neck, chest, and abdomen, as well as to both knees.
The state has filed charges in this case against Ibrahim Faih Nizam, of Rahdhebaige, S. Maradhoo-Feydhoo, and Siruhan Ali, of Guleynoorammaage, Th. Gaadhiffushi. Both individuals are charged with intentional murder using a sharp object. The charges were brought under the Act on Prohibition of Intimidation and Possession of Dangerous Weapons and Sharp Objects.
Both individuals have denied the charges against them.
A hearing for this case was initially scheduled for 09:30 on Sunday morning. However, the court decided to cancel the session. The cancellation follows requests from both the defense counsel and the prosecution to reschedule the hearing for a later date.
The case has now reached the stage of presenting arguments regarding the evidence and delivering closing statements.
Both defendants in this case remain in custody pending the conclusion of their trial.
