The Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially laid the foundation for a new branch in Kanditheemu island of Shaviyani atoll, further strengthening its presence in Shaviyani Atoll.
The foundation laying ceremony took place on Monday and was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, cabinet ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, along with senior officials from the bank.
This new branch in Kanditheemu will complement the existing branch in Funadhoo island of Shaviyani atoll and supports the bank’s efforts to expand accessible banking services across the atoll. BML has already established ATM services in all inhabited islands of Shaviyani atoll, ensuring that residents can access key financial services conveniently.
The country’s national bank continues to play a central role in enhancing financial inclusion across the country. With a nationwide network of 42 branches in 20 atolls, 193 self-service banking centers, 251 ATMs, and comprehensive online banking services, BML remains committed to supporting individuals, businesses, and communities throughout the Maldives.
