Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially launched self-service ATM banking services in Buruni island of Thaa atoll, marking the beginning of a broader rollout under the “Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM” initiative.
As part of this expansion, the country’s national bank will introduce ATM services in eight additional islands across Thaa Atoll this week, ensuring full ATM coverage in all inhabited islands within the atoll.

The inauguration ceremony in Buruni was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, cabinet ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef, along with senior officials from the bank.

This expansion is aimed at enhancing banking accessibility for local communities, enabling both individuals and businesses to access convenient, round-the-clock self-service banking without the need to travel to other islands.
