Telecommunications giant Ooredoo Maldives has issued a warning to the public, urging heightened vigilance following a surge in scam calls and messages falsely claiming to be from the company.

Do not share your OTPs or bank details, and avoid clicking on suspicious links.
Report any suspicious activity to Maldives Police Service at 3322111 or 3322112.
The telecom provider emphasized the emergence of deceptive SMS messages being circulated under its name. In addition, Ooredoo has called on the public to remain alert to suspicious phone calls that may be part of similar scams.
Authorities have reported a renewed rise in scam activities, prompting continued efforts by the police to raise public awareness. The public is strongly advised not to share One-Time Passwords (OTPs) or sensitive banking information with anyone.
Ooredoo has also urged the public to report any suspicious activity by contacting their hotline at 3322111 or 3322112, and to notify the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
