Fentenoy in the early hours of April 18, to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Muizzu formed a Presidential Commission after a several members of the youth community took to the streets, dissatisfied with how the investigation into Yumnu's fall was being conducted, calling for justice.

As such, Muizzu established the Presidential Commission on April 27. Initially, the commission consisted of three members. Later, the members of the commission were changed, and it was transformed into a five-member commission.

Yumnu's family and the general public had stated that they had no confidence in the commission. The president of the Presidential Commission formed by President Muizzu is former Chief Justice Dr. Mohamed Munavvar.

The commission had previously stated that they would submit the commission's report to President Muizzu within approximately two weeks. However, the commission did not provide further details regarding this.

Reposting the commission's post on ‘X’, Muizzu confirmed that he has received the commission's report and that he has instructed the Presidential Commission to make the report public. However, the president did not specify a date for when the report would be made public.

The case has drawn significant public attention, with widespread dissatisfaction over how the investigation was handled. Many have voiced concerns about the transparency and credibility of the process, calling for greater accountability.
