Odi Sports Club is off to a great start in the ongoing FAM League Cup with a commanding victory over Mahibadhoo Sports Club.
The match, played on Friday evening at the Galolhu National Stadium, was the first game for both teams in the tournament. Odi won the match with a score of 6-0 against Mahibadhoo.
Odi scored three goals in the first half of the match, and another three goals in the second half.
Odi took the lead in the 33rd minute of the first half by successfully converting a penalty. The penalty was scored by the foreign player Islam Fikri, giving his team the lead.
A minute later, Ismail Vifaq extended Odi's lead by scoring the second goal. Just a minute before the end of the first half's full time, Vifaq scored Odi's third goal.
In the fifth minute of the second half, Muzdhaan Hassan scored Odi's fourth goal. Six minutes later, Haisam Rasheed scored Odi's fifth goal. Muzdhaan scored Odi's sixth goal in the 75th minute of the match.
Five teams are competing in the tournament organized by FAM. These include three teams from the First Division and two teams from the Second Division.
The tournament is being held as a substitute for the football season originally scheduled to begin in April, which was postponed, prompting FAM to organize the league cup competition instead.
