While it is suspected that Raud Ahmed Zilal was involved in Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed's fall, it has been revealed that some evidence has been submitted alleging that he committed the crime.

In connection with the incident where a woman fell onto the roof of H. Mithaaz on April 18, Raud Ahmed Zilal, 21, was arrested on Thursday at 06:20pm under a court order, and when brought before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing, he was remanded for five days.

According to a copy of the court order RaajjeMV has obtained, it states that some level of evidence has been submitted alleging that Raud committed the crime, and therefore five days of remand have been ordered for the suspect.

The court order further states that Raud was arrested in accordance with procedures and that his urine tested positive for cannabis.

It is also known to the investigation that there were disputes between the victim and Raud that night, and shortly after the incident, when asked about Yumnu's whereabouts, Raud reportedly said he didn't know where she was and that he believed she had fallen.

In the first press conference held by the police regarding the matter, they stated that they were not aware of any involvement of any other person or group in Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed's fall, and that it was believed that Yumnu “fell on her own”.

Several members of the public have been raising their voices claiming that the CCTV footage of the night of the incident shown by the police has been heavily edited. Further, some other videos have been circulating on social media as well.

It has been three days since young adults have been protesting in the streets of capital Malé City calling for justice for Yumnu. These protests have been demanding the resignation of senior government officials.
