A large quantity of alcohol bottles and cans of beer, have been seized near a jetty in Hulhumalé.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that following information received about an individual carrying cases of alcohol near a Hulhumalé Jetty, an operation was conducted during which a large amount of alcohol was found and taken into police custody.

The police institution revealed that during this operation conducted by the Hulhumalé Phase I Police Station on March 18, when the jetty area was searched, a box and a bag were found. Upon searching the box and bag, officers found 14 bottles of alcohol and 72 cans of beer.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case yet.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
