Maldivians have staged yet another protest, calling to boycott KFC and Pizza Hut in the island nation.

The protest was staged on the streets, in front of world-famous Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet on Ameenee Magu of capital Malé City, as well as Pizza Hut.

Protestors called for the boycott of companies profiting from the genocide of Palestinians, with branches operational in the Maldives as well.

These protests were staged on Friday evening and came as part of a series of rallies being hosted by the youth community over the course of the past few months, demanding for a ceasefire and voicing against the continuous inhumane attacks by Israel on Gaza.

Stressing that there has been a decline in the number of people voicing support for the brothers and sisters of Palestine, protestors voiced against this.

Highlighting that several other Muslim countries have been boycotting companies profiting from the genocide of Palestinians such as KFC, protestors questioned why this cannot be done in the Maldives.

The protesters have asserted that the protests will continue without any interruption until the businesses are boycotted and banned.

Maldivian youth have continuously been taking to the streets calling to boycott companies profiting from the genocide of innocent Palestinian civilians.

Protestors have been calling on the public to avoid funding genocide and to turn their backs to such companies.

These companies are included among the list of companies profiting from the genocide of innocent Palestinian civilians by Israel and individuals all across the globe are actively participating in protests calling to boycott their products.

Puma, Pizza Hut and KFC are included among several companies profiting from the genocide of Palestinians that the Palestine-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement continues to voice against.

Israeli armed forces have been carrying out unprovoked air strikes across Gaza since 7 October 2023. Israel declared war on Palestine after Hamas launched a mass military operation into the territory of Israel on 7 October 2023 in response to Israeli violation of the Al Aqsa Mosque. Attacks on Palestinians by Israeli settlers have since spiked and the death toll has exceeded the 37,000-mark.
