Ibrahim Rasheed, the Vice President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), has resigned from his position.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’, the Civil Service Commission revealed that they acknowledge and thank Ibrahim Rasheed for his service to the commission.

Ibrahim Rasheed has resigned from his position after the Committee on Independent Institutions passed a motion on Monday to initiate the process of his dismissal to be sent to the parliament floor.

In the committee meeting, which was conducted with audio frequently muted, all participating members except for MP for South Galolhu constituency Meekail Ahmed Naseem, voted in favor of his dismissal.

However, it is not yet known exactly what issue prompted the committee to decide to initiate the dismissal process.

However, RaajjeMV understands that the decision to dismiss Ibrahim Rasheed was made in connection with a letter submitted to the committee by MP for Hulhudhoo constituency Mohamed Shahid. The letter reportedly contained numerous complaints related to Ibrahim Rasheed.

Rasheed was appointed as the Vice President of the CSC on 3 September 2020.
