Maldives' speedster Hassan Saaid has been selected to represent his nation at the 2023 World Indoor Athletics Championship in Nanjing, China, after blazing through the 60-meter trials with a blistering 6.83 seconds. With prior experiences in 2022 and 2024, Saaid is poised to make his mark on the global stage once again.
Hassan Saaid is set to compete for Maldives in the World Athletics Indoor Championships
The Athletics Association of Maldives has decided to grant Hassan Saaid the opportunity to compete in this year's World Indoor Athletics Championship.
This year's World Athletics Indoor Championship is set to proceed in China. This year's tournament in Nanjing, China will be held from March 21 – 23.
Maldives' speedster Saaid earned this opportunity by succeeding in the trials conducted by the Athletics Association to determine an athlete to compete in the competition. In the trial, Saaid completed the 60-meter race with a timing of 6.83. Ibadullah Adam, who competed against Saaid, finished the race with a timing of 6.90.
Saaid has competed in the World Indoor Athletics Championship previously, in 2022 and 2024.
