The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has announced opportunity for those in the legal profession to apply for adjudication positions at the Civil and Criminal Courts.

JSC’s statement on Friday says that the Criminal Court and Civil Court requires two more judges, each.

Judges are eligible for a monthly compensation of MVR 30,000 in additional to a living allowance of 15,000.

Civil Court judges will also receive a risk allowance of MVR 1,650 while Criminal Court judges will receive 3,300.

JSC had also said that judges will receive a phone allowance and medical insurance. The commission had set the deadline for applications at 14:00 on 10th September.

JSC had recently made the controversial decision to transfer chief judge of the Criminal Court, Abdula Baaree Yoosuf, and Judge Ahmed Shakeel to another court.
