Fuvahmulah City has secured a spot in the second round by winning their third match in the group stage of the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.
Fuvahmulah went head-to-head against the team from Meedhoo Island of Dhaal Atoll on Saturday night at the Galolhu National Stadium.
Fuvahmulah beat Meedhoo with an impressive score of 4–0.
Fuvahmulah scored two goals in the first half of the match. The team scored the other two goals in the second half.
In the first half of the match, both goals were scored for the winning team by Ali Shamaal Abdulla.
In the second half of the match, the team’s third goal was scored by Inaan Ahmed. He scored with a first-time finish, converting Shamaal’s cross into the net. In the final moments of the match, Shamaal completed a hat trick by successfully converting a penalty awarded to Fuvahmulah.
