An employee of Afcons Infrastructure has been found dead.

The employee who was found dead with visible injuries, was working at the Malé-Vilimalé bridge site.

In a message to local media houses, the Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Tuesday revealed that they received information that a person discovered with injuries was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) early Tuesday morning.

Citing hospital officials, MPS revealed that the Afcons employee was already dead when brought to the hospital.

Further, the police institution noted that their initial findings indicate that the person who was found dead, was a worker of India’s Afcons Infrastructure company, who was working on the Malé-Vilimalé bridge project.

He was found dead at the Afcons company site in Vilimalé.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
