The Normalization Committee, entrusted with the management of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) by FIFA, has met with its staff.
The meeting was held on Sunday.
While FAM was normalized and the house’s president, Bassam Adeel Jaleel was suspended citing administrative and financial issues, the salaries of several FAM employees remain unpaid.
FAM currently has a lot of pending payments.
Some of the individuals have since taken the failure to settle dues to the court and the court has also instructed FAM to make the payments.
So far, the Normalization Committee has sat down for discussions with clubs in the first division as well as the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation and the sports commissioner.
The committee is also scheduled to engage in discussions with the Maldives Police Service (MPS), the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office) as well as clubs in the second and third division.
Presently, the biggest problem facing the committee is that it does not have a dedicate workplace.
After being left neglected for too long, the FAM building has been left damaged and unsafe for a work environment.
