Mohamed Saeed has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM).
Saeed’s appointment to the post comes in the wake of Zeena Zahir’s sudden resignation from the post.
The new MD of PSM attained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Bolton, UK.
He also has education in media.
Previously, Saeed served as a Permanent Secretary at the Education Ministry as well as Director General.
He also filled several other positions in the education sector.
The reason for Zeena’s resignation has not been clarified.
Noting that this was the first time that a woman has been appointed as the Managing Director of PSM after Zeena’s initial appointment, the incumbent administration claimed that it was a reflection of their high priority on women and talked about it to increase the incumbent administration’s popularity, on multiple platforms.
However, a reliable source revealed that Zeena resigned at a time she was facing issues like not being adequately supported in her work.
An anonymous source told RaajjeMV that there were people who challenged the presence of a woman in a senior position at PSM.
The anonymous source also revealed that Zeena had to deal with harassment and other challenges at work.
Zeena, who joined media in 2006, has served in the industry for a long time.
She has studied marketing managing at the diploma level and also completed her Masters of Business Administration from Avid College, in 2020.
