President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to India.
The Maldivian leader returned home on Tuesday morning.
Muizzu headed to India on Saturday, upon the official invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Indian PM and Council of Ministers.
The visit also saw Muizzu attending an official banquet hosted by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu in honor of the visiting dignitaries.
The Maldivian leader also sat down for talks with the Indian president.
Discussions at the meeting revolved around enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In addition to this, the Union Minister of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar who earlier served as the Minister of External Affairs, paid a courtesy call on Muizzu.
A high-level delegation comprising of senior government officials accompanied the president during the trip.
This marked his first visit to India since assuming office on 17 November 2023.
