A man has been arrested and remanded over allegations of abusing and peddling drugs.
Arrested and remanded in connection with the case is a 23-year-old Maldivian man.
The Criminal Court ordered for him to be remanded in a custodial prison.
He was slapped with a 15-day remand.
The court order reads that sufficient evidence has been submitted against him, including intelligence reports, a statement from the police officers at the scene, a statement from a witness as well as photo reports.
The court order also noted that a hefty amount of drugs were confiscated from the location alongside equipment and materials used to package drugs.
His fingerprints were also recovered from a bottle taken from the table in the living room of the apartment where the drugs were confiscated.
According to the Criminal Court, the suspect was remanded in judicial custody on the ground that he poses a threat to the safety and security of the community.
