Two injured in serious crash on Sinamalé Bridge highway

A man and a woman has sustained injuries in a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on the Sinamalé Bridge highway.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Saturday revealed that the accident occurred when a motorcycle and a pickup truck collided at the end of the fourth lane on the highway leading from Malé to Hulhumalé.

The report of this accident was received around 9am on 29 November 2025.

The police institution has identified the injured as a 28-year-old Maldivian man who was driving the motorcycle, as well as a 22-year-old Indian woman who was on the passenger seat.

Both individuals are currently receiving treatment at IGMH.

In addition to this, the police institution reported that the man sustained various injuries, including a dislocated right shoulder. The woman suffered various abrasions and injuries to different parts of her body.

Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
