The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has extinguished a fire that broke out inside a house in the congested capital, Malé City.
The fire is to have broken out inside the fourth floor of M. Rabeeu Villa after sundown on Wednesday.
MNDF received reports of the fire at around 08:19pm on Wednesday.
The fire was extinguished by 09:12pm, according to authorities.
According to the findings so far, no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire.
Videos and images of the incident circulating on social media show that the building was engulfed in flames.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had also visited the site of the fire and checked the well-being of the residents of the area.
