Fire breaks out in Farukolhufushi building housing HDC documents

A building in Farukolhufushi has caught fire.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) reported the incident on Friday.
Authorities reported that firefighters from the MNDF Malé Area Command and the Hulhumalé Fire Station are actively working to contain the blaze. The incident was reported to authorities at 1pm.
While efforts continue, sources indicate that the fire is affecting an accommodation block.
The building is located in Phase III of Hulhumalé, and reports state that important documents belonging to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) were being stored at the facility as the fire continues to spread.
