Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has sent a letter to Courts over rumors that a petition was circulating in the Courts, following rumors that Judges were preparing to file an ethics case against Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed.

The case is to be filed to Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Reporting to RaajjeMV, Spokesperson for DJA said that they had sent such a letter to the Courts. He added that the letter was sent as there were many rumors made on the Judges over the matter, especially on social media.

The letters were signed by Judicial Administrator Hassan Saeed.

RaajjeMV understands that some Judges of Superior Courts had signed this petition. A Judge of a Superior Court had already confirmed that. The Judge said the letter sent by DJA had requested to find out who had signed the petition and share the names. The Judge added that a significant number had already signed the petition.

However, RaajjeMV had not been able to glean the nature of the ethics violation raised against Chief Justice.
