Council members of Naifaru island of Lhaviyani atoll have urged the incumbent administration to provide solutions to the issues linked to electricity and water network services on the island.
This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Saturday.
Important development needs of the island community were discussed at the meeting, including road construction, providing specialist doctors at Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital, expanding the area slated for land reclamation as well as the need to establish a new school or adding an extension building to improve education at the island’s school.
Councilors also relayed the need for a youth center as well as other socioeconomic needs of the island community.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.
