Council members of Innamaadhoo island of Raa atoll have sought a solution for the housing crisis facing the island community.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Sunday.

Discussions at the meeting revolved around the development needs of the island community, including the need for constructing flats to alleviate the island's housing crisis introducing ATM services, modernizing major roads of the island as well as establishing a vocational training facility.

Innamaadhoo councilors also shed light on the importance of recommencing stalled development projects after the initial phase.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.

Members of the president’s Cabinet of Ministers accompanying him during the tour shared latest updates linked to the issues raised, at the meeting.
