Police posts have been unveiled across four more islands.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) took to social media platform ‘X’ to reveal the details of the newly inaugurated police posts earlier this week.
As such, police posts were unveiled in Kurinbi island of Haa Dhaal atoll, Filladhoo island of Haa Alif atoll, Vandhoo island of Thaa atoll and Hulhudheli island of Dhaal atoll.
The police posts on Kurinbi and Filladhoo were unveiled on February 13 and on the other two islands on February 15.
Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau unveiled all four posts, during official trips made to Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal, Thaa and Dhaal atolls.
The inauguration ceremonies were attended by dignitaries from the police institution and other government institutions.
MPS revealed that the establishment of police posts across these four islands, reinforces their commitment to improve community safety and to encourage law enforcement collaboration.
The police institution further noted that they were an essential addition to the commitment of MPS towards maintaining safety across communities nationwide.
The police institution inaugurated three more police posts in islands in the north of Maldives back in January, including one on Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll, one on Lhohi island of Noonu atoll, one on Kihaadhoo island of Baa atoll and one in Maalhos island of Baa atoll.
As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closely in a decentralized manner, the police services were inaugurated in these islands in collaboration with the island communities.
The police posts are being established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island communities.
