Man arrested in connection with drug case

A man has been arrested in Hulhumalé in connection with a drug-related case.
According to information provided by the Maldives Police Service (MPS), the person arrested in relation to the case is Ahmed Ali, 31 from Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaal atoll.
The police institution revealed that he was arrested by patrol officers in Hulhumalé Phase 1 in the early hours of Friday.
In addition to this, MPS revealed that officers patrolling Huvandhumaa Hingun stopped and searched the man due to suspicious behavior. During the search, the police reportedly found 19 small pieces of cellophane containing suspected narcotics. The weight of the substances is 15 grams.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
