Officers of the Maldives Police Service (MPS) have confiscated a stash of beers cans in Madaveli island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.

The police institution revealed that the stash of beer was confiscated and brought into the custody of Madaveli police station, during an operation officers conducted from January 25 – February 9.

The cases of beer were discovered from an abandoned region of the island.

A total of 48 cans of beer were confiscated by Madaveli officers, during the operation.

Further, the officers are also to have confiscated three bottles of alcohol, a bottle filled with suspected alcohol as well as equipment used for drugs abuse, as part of the operation.

No arrests have been made in connection with the operation so far.

However, further investigations are currently underway.
