The shore protection project initiated in Innamaadhoo island of Raa atoll is progressing well.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday.
As such, taking to social media platform ‘X’ to provide the latest updates of the Innamaadhoo shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that the second shipment of rock boulders required for the project, was delivered to the project site on January 27.
According to the company, currently ongoing at the project site is groyne profiling work.
MTCC commenced the physical work of the project on 9 January 2024.
The company delivered the first shipment of rock boulders required for the project to the project site during September 2023.
The previous administration’s Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC.
The project entails groyne work in an area measuring 360 meters.
The Innamaadhoo shore protection project is valued at MVR 14.77 million.
